On April 28, DoNoHarm BC hosted a non-violent die-in protest in front of health minister Adrian Dix’s office to protest the removal of mandatory masks in healthcare settings. The group’s core demand is to “return universal masking protections to all healthcare settings in BC,” citing the airborne nature of COVID-19.
As part of DoNoHarm BC’s #Postcards4PublicHealth campaign, we’ve invited British Columbians to share their stories about the lack of Covid safety in BC – particularly the loss of mask protections in healthcare.
BC public health has made it too confusing to keep up on COVID-19 information. With the government changing information about COVID-19 data and obscuring data collection, knowingly downplaying risks about transmission, and overall unclear messaging, it’s no wonder people are misinformed.
B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix have announced that mandatory masking is returning to the province’s health-care facilities as the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise.
Protect Our Province BC [and other groups] wants better air ventilation, a mask mandate and earlier vaccinations for families and children.
On August 28, DoNoHarmBC hosted a protest in front of the Minister of Health, Adrian Dix’s office to call for the return of universal mask protections in healthcare settings.
It’s billed as “Vancouver’s annual COVID-safer festival”. Organizers have scheduled the immune-inclusive Clean Air Festival in Slocan Park (2750 East 29th Avenue) next Sunday (September 15).
