Tell policy-makers BC demands access to Novavax
This form lets you email several BC decision-makers at once – from the BCCDC, to your MLA, to BC Health Minister Josie Osborne and Dr. Bonnie Henry and their deputies. Enter your address to help find your local representative. Then review the email wording and subject line, and send!
Note: the “Action Network” tool requires a return address so that the system can find your MLA. If you prefer not to enter your address, you also can also use our template wording to email policy-makers yourself.

Since 2024, British Columbia has declined to order the Health Canada-approved Novavax Nuvaxovid COVID-19 vaccine – the only protein-based COVID vaccine option for people in Canada.
Yet for some British Columbians, a protein-based COVID vaccine like Novavax is the only vaccine option they can tolerate and safely receive – meaning without it, they have been unable to get vaccinated for COVID-19 at all during this time.
Due to lack of vaccine access and choice, some Canadians have also beenforced to travel to the US to pay out of pocket for COVID-19 vaccination. This is beyond the reach of many sick and lower-income people, and becoming more difficult due to increasing political tension and decreased access to vaccines in the US.
There is clear demand for Novavax. In 2024, British Columbians sent over 26,000 letters asking for Novavax access. This February, the Canadian Immunocompromised Advocacy Network released an open letter recommending procurement of the Novavax Nuvaxovid vaccine, which was signed by doctors and stakeholder organizations across Canada.
Please join us in urging BC policy-makers to ensure Novavax access for the 2026/27 season. This is a matter of safety and health equity for some of the most vulnerable amongst us, including some people who already have Long COVID or other complex medical conditions. We must also ensure Novavax is offered in a TIMELY fashion, with clear messaging, to avoid a repeat of prior seasons where it was only offered with a very delayed rollout and severely restricted availability, contributing to perceived “low demand”.
Contact the BCCDC and your policy-makers today, and tell them we need #NovavaxNow.
